Sherman not playing would have been a relief for the struggling 49ers offense. However, a hamstring is something that can be easily aggravated or can limit his effeciveness. It wouldn't be a surprise if the 49ers tested him early to see how healthy he is, which can lead to a big IDP day for Sherman if he is healthy.
