Bruce Carter wants to be a bigger part of the Cowboys defense

by Chris Zolli | Wed, Nov 5th 3:21pm EST

Bruce Carter missed the three weeks coming into the Cowboys Monday night matchup with Washington and has been inconsistent since returning. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Starting middle linebacker Justin Durant is out for the season and Carter was looked to carry some of the burden of the loss of the consistent Durant. This has not been the case over the past two weeks, as Carter played 33 snaps against Washington without a tackle and only played 16 snaps against Arizona with three tackles. Carter is frustrated because he received 11 less snaps than backup Kyle WIlber and Carter is looking to be a bigger part of the defense looking forward. The Cowboys need a vocal leader on defense and also need someone to hold down the middle of the linebacking corps; Carter is very talented but is not consistent and that is what bothers coaches. Carter does have an interception and a sack on top of his 28 tackles this year and the Cowboys need him to be stronger in run defense and get healthier from his thigh and finger injuries.
