Matt Lengel claimed off waivers by Texans

Matt Lengel (TE - FA)

The Houston Texans have claimed third-year veteran tight end Matt Lengel off of waivers from the Cleveland Browns. (Houston Texans PR via Twitter )

Fantasy Impact
Lengel caught two balls for 22 yards and a touchdown during his 2016 rookie season with the Patriots before joining the Cleveland Browns last year. Lengel was undrafted out of Eastern Kentucky but has the size (6-foot-7, 266) to make an NFL impact. Houston just lost C.J. Fiedorowicz to retirement, freeing up a spot for Lengel to compete with Ryan Griffin and Stephen Andersen. In a corresponding move, quarterback Taylor Heinicke was released by the Texans.
