Connor Williams goes to Dallas Cowboys with 50th overall pick

With the 50th overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Texas offensive lineman Connor Williams.

Fantasy Impact:

The Eagles moved in front of the Cowboys to take tight end Dallas Goedert at pick 49, which is significant because future Hall of Fame Cowboys tight end Jason Witten abruptly retired earlier in the day. So, instead of tight end, the Cowboys chose to add more depth to an already talented offensive line. Williams is capable of playing guard or tackle at the NFL level, and Dallas has the flexibility to leave him at tackle or kick him inside to guard. He was announced as a guard at the NFL Draft, but that is not always indicative of a team's intentions.
