Woods sustained the injury in Saturday’s preseason game against the Bengals while making a diving attempt at an interception. He is the team’s starter at free safety when healthy. The safety position has been a weak spot for the Cowboys who also lost backup Jameill Showers in the game to a torn ACL. Dallas may have interest in veteran George Iloka who was released by the Bengals on Sunday. Of course, there have been rumors all offseason that the Cowboys could trade for disgruntled Seahawks safety Earl Thomas.
