Trevor Bates arrested, allegedly punched police officer

Lions linebacker Trevor Davis was arrested early early Saturday morning in New York City after a cab driver said he refused to pay his fare. While at the police station, Davis allegedly became angry and punched a sergeant, according to the New York Post. The officer reportedly suffered a concussion and required three stitches. Bates was taken to a nearby hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. (New York Post )

The Lions issued a statement Saturday morning: “We are aware of the arrest of Trevor Bates earlier today in New York. We have not spoken to Trevor as of yet and are still in the process of gathering more information. The Detroit Lions will have no further comment at this time.” Bates played nine games for the Lions in 2018, recording just three tackles. He also spent time with the Colts, Patriots, and Giants before signing with the Lions last offseason.
