Devin McCourty likely to consider retirement if Patriots win Super Bowl

by Alex Johnson | Tue, Jan 29th 11:30pm EST

Patriots safety Devin McCourty acknowledged on Super Bowl Opening Night that if New England were to win Sunday, he may opt to retire. “I don’t know for sure,” McCourty said from his podium Monday. “I do look at it if we can win this game, win it with my brother, I don’t know what else I could do that would top that. I’m just trying to make sure I enjoy this season and enjoy these last couple of days with these guys.” (ProFootballTalk)

Fantasy Impact:

McCourty has been a key element of the New England secondary since they selected him 27th overall in the 2010 draft. Sunday’s game against the Rams will be his fifth Super Bowl appearance. This time, he will be joined by his twin brother Jason who is set to play in his first. Devin sounds like a guy wanting to walk off into the sunset as a champion.
