Jonathan Hilliman leads Giants backfield in Week 5 touches

by Raju Byfield | Mon, Oct 7th 4:00pm EDT

Jonathan Hillman operated as the New York Giants lead back after Wayne Gallman went down with a concussion against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Impact:

Wayne Gallman suffered a concussion after just two Week 5 carries, which led to Jonathan Hillman receiving the bulk of the Giants backfield touches. He did not do much with them against a tough Minnesota Vikings defense, as he managed just nine carries for 20 yards. He saw some action in the passing game as well, but managed just one reception for four receiving yards off of two targets. Hillman saw 62.5 percent of the backfield touches and 64 percent of the snaps. With Saquon Barkley inching closer to a return, Hillman’s brief fantasy relevance should be over soon. Still, with Saquon and Gallman both banged up, Hillman is worth an end of the bench stash in case both backs are unable to get cleared on a short week ahead of Thursday Night Football against the New England Patriots.
