While Bridgewater has played well without Drew Brees -- he has yet to lose a game -- the backup will resume his role as the QB2 upon the starter's return, which could be as soon as Week 8. Brees is expected to resume practicing this week. If the Saints elect to hold Brees out another game with their bye on the horizon in Week 9, Bridgewater would get an exploitable matchup with the Cardinals in Week 8.
