The Philadelphia Eagles released long-time DE/LB Trent Cole on Wednesday. He had just finished his 10th season with the team, after being drafted in the 5th round of the 2005 draft by the Eagles. Cole played his college ball at the University of Cincinnati. (PhiladelphiaEagles.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Cole has been a warrior over the last decade, racking up a whopping 88.5 career sacks over his career. He was a good soldier the last two years, as the team transitioned to a 3-4 from the 4-3 defense he had played for eight seasons, asking Cole to play a different position than he was accustomed to, and he did so without a complaint. His play was decent this past season, it just wasn't good enough to justify the $10 mil salary he was set to make this upcoming season. Though Cole is 32 years old, he still has some gas in the tank and should help a team in need of a 4-3 Defensive End.
