NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe was boots on the ground Sunday at a Carolina Panthers training camp practice. Wolfe believes newly-signed TE Dan Arnold's connection with newly-acquired QB Sam Darnold is heating up, saying, "The other day, Sam Darnold threw a touchdown pass to tight end Dan Arnold and he yells, 'Darnold to Arnold, baby! Get used to seeing that.'" (NFL.com)
Wolfe added that Darnold is "turning it on" in training camp thus far. News of Darnold and Arnold's connecting heating up comes on the heels of OC Joe Brady saying, "The [coaching] tree that I grew up in, the tight ends are the most important position on the field, the matchups that they create, and everything. It's been a point of emphasis this offseason, just trying to get those guys going in the passing game. And I think those guys have kind of taken and ran with it." Arnold totaled 31 catches on 45 targets for 438 yards and four touchdowns last season in 16 games [5 starts]. The WR-turned-TE is a good dart throw for fantasy gamers punting on the position.
