The two-gap technique old defensive coordinator Jim Haslett employed resulted in Hatcher's sack total falling from 11 in 2013 to 5.5 in 2014. The two-gap technique has the defensive line focus on run-stopping, while the linebackers are freed up to rush the passer. Hatcher will get more opportunities to sack the quarterback playing one-gap.
