Rapoport notes that the Commanders tried to trade Ioannidis before cutting him. The move creates nearly $6.9 million in cap space while accounting for $1.5 million in dead money. The 28-year-old appeared in 16 games (six starts) last season, recording 38 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, and 2.5 sacks. Just three years removed from a 15-start campaign, Ioannidis should generate significant interest on the open market.
