Veteran quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms on a reworked deal, giving him $30 million guaranteed in 2026, a year in which he previously had no guarantees. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The restructured deal does not add any years to his contract, but it does show a sign of faith in the former No. 1 pick by ensuring he will be paid next season. Mayfield has had consecutive strong seasons in Tampa Bay despite playing with two different offensive coordinators during that time. His touchdown rate in Tampa Bay (6.1%) is higher than any other stop in his career, while having a lower interception rate (2.3%) than his career average.
