Tyler Badie could get increased Week 2 workload

Running back Tyler Badie, who led the Denver Broncos running backs in targets in week one, could continue to dominate the receiving work out of the backfield in week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, with Sean Payton saying he is expecting a lot of pressure looks. (Sean Payton)

Fantasy Impact:

Speaking about Tyler Badie, head coach Sean Payton was complimentary about how he has improved, "We think he can run well, he's good in the pickups, he's good in the passing game" Badie was a sixth-round draft pick, played 18% of the offensive snaps in the week one win against the Tennessee Titans and was targeted six times in that victory (Harvey one target, Dobbins with two), with Payton going on to say, "He was someone coming on last year, even as a runner. I think that there's always a value when you know exactly what you're getting from a player, and then you can implement him into those things that he does well." While Badie is unlikely to get much ground work, if he can carve out a passing role, he could be worth stashing on the bottom of rosters in deep dynasty and redraft full PPR leagues. He is clearly a player that Sean Payton likes, offering a different skill set, having kept Jaleel McLaughlin out of week one. If he does, that could temper expectations of RJ Harvey, touted as one of the better receiving backs of the rookie class.
