Simmons is not expected to be available to play in Week 1, and he wasn't able to practice on Thursday, which is further confirmation of that report. Kahlil Benson is expected to be the starter in his likely absence, which is bad news for the Chiefs, as he is an inexperienced rookie facing up against one of the best defensive fronts in the entire league.
