Long-term deal talks with Kirk Cousins remain 'positive'

Kirk Cousins (QB - ATL)

Washington Redskins GM Scot McCloughan told CSN Mid Atlantic that the organization is "still in discussions" with Kirk Cousins on a long-term deal and that "they're positive." Cousins is currently set to play the 2016 season under the franchise tag. (Around the NFL)

Fantasy Impact
Kirk Cousins is likely the next in line to receive a blockbuster deal in the NFL, especially since his team, the Washington Redskins shelled out an enormous amount of money to lure Josh Norman to the nation's capital just a few days back. Cousins will enter his second-consecutive season as the team's starter and will look to build off of his record setting 2015 campaign this year. Cousins is a borderline QB1 with moderate upside. His success rests upon the health of DeSean Jackson, who missed seven games last season to injury. A healthy trio of Jackson, Pierre Garçon and Jordan Reed could be enough for Cousins to remain a top 10 fantasy quarterback.
