Will Shipley Week 5 Outlook - Eagles at Jaguars

With Tank Bigsby on the IR and Saquon Barkley injured, Will Shipley will take over as Philly's lead back until Barkley returns. Shipley hasn't been impressive when on the field during his NFL tenure. Since 2024, with his 59 NFL carries, Shipley has only a 1.8% explosive run rate, 1.63 yards after contact per attempt, and an 8% missed tackle rate. None of that is good or encouraging. Shipley should still see 12-15 touches for the Eagles, so there is some fantasy value here based on volume alone. Shipley is a volume-based flex play this week with a horrible matchup. The Jags have allowed the third-lowest explosive run rate, the ninth-lowest rushing success rate, the lowest missed tackle rate, and the fewest yards after contact per attempt.
