At the moment, Harris is technically the Chargers' No. 3 receiver behind Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston. It might not be long before Harris leapfrogs the struggling Johnston on the depth chart. Johnston has caught just 6-of-17 targets for 64 yards and no touchdowns. Pro Football Reference has charged him with just one drop this season, but that seems generous. Johnston is averaging 3.8 yards per target and 0.49 yards per route run. Chargers QB Justin Herbert has a passer rating of 47.2 on his throws to Johnston this season.
Harris had 6-76-0 on a team-high seven targets Sunday vs. the Bills. He ran a route on only 63% of Herbert's dropbacks on Sunday, but Harris had a 21% target share. A second-round pick out of Ole Miss in 2025, Harris is averaging 9.3 yards per target and 1.52 yards per route run.
Harris hasn't jumped Johnston on the depth chart yet, and the Chargers have nasty passing-game matchups against Seattle and Denver the next two weeks. But a small bid on Harris now could give you a receiver who might be startable by the end of October.
