FantasyPros
That sound you hear is the fantasy community cheering for Rodgers' return from a broken collarbone, just in time for the meat of the fantasy playoffs. There's some risk here, as Rodgers' collarbone isn't 100% healed, but he's looked great in practice and if you've waited this long, it's likely you're ready to start him. The Panthers have been better than average against opposing quarterbacks, but they've struggled a bit lately, and Rodgers has a great recent history against them (averaging more than 300 yards passing and three touchdowns in his last three meetings). It's possible you have a safer or better option than Rodgers, but unless you have a stud, deploy Rodgers as a QB1 this weekend.

FantasyPros
I may be from Chicago and be a Bears fan, but I appreciate watching greatness. The line on this game has been weird, opening up with the Panthers favored by 1.0, but it's moved to anywhere from Panthers by 3-6 points, so we just went down the middle. It's odd, because the line was after Rodgers was cleared. I think people forgot what he did for not only the offense, but the defense too. There've been just two games in Rodgers' career where he's had to return from injury (and one was a collarbone injury), and in those games, he threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns, and then 318 yards and two touchdowns. It's fair to say that he's pretty good coming off injury. Reports out of practice were that he's looked as good as ever for the last two weeks, but that he needed to be cleared for contact. The Panthers were once a good defense, but they've struggled as of late. Since Week 9, they've played five games, allowing 10 passing touchdowns to the combination of Case Keenum, Drew Brees, Josh McCown, Jay Cutler, and Matt Ryan. We also saw Ryan and McCown surpass 300 yards through the air. When you look at the quarterbacks they've slowed down this year, you don't want to put Rodgers anywhere near them. The only quarterbacks to finish with less than 14.4 fantasy points against them were Brian Hoyer, Tyrod Taylor, Mitch Trubisky, and Jameis Winston. Rodgers must be back in fantasy lineups this week. This is going to be a great test for Rivers and the Chargers offense in order to make sure things are different than they've been in years past. What do I mean by that? Rivers has choked against the Chiefs for three straight years. Here are his passing yards and touchdowns from each of their last seven games: 237/0, 269/2, 243/1, 263/0, 178/0, 291/0, 205/2. He's failed to top 14.9 fantasy points against them since way back in 2013. Keep in mind that during that stretch, Rivers has had some pretty amazing streaks, including the one he's on now, but with this being a divisional game against an Andy Reid-led team who has had his number, expectations need to be tempered. On top of that, this game will take place in Kansas City, which happens to be one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. The Chiefs do allow plenty of points on the road, but they allow more than seven points less at home. This game will also be during primetime, so you know the crowd will be as loud as ever. Again, this Chargers team is playing as good as they have in quite some time, so I'm not going to say that Rivers is unplayable, but he's more of a high-end QB2 this week and one that I'd avoid in DFS.

Rodgers needs to gain medical clearance in order to play this week, he'll have some rust and Carolina is 8th against fantasy quarterbacks. He should still be a QB1 in his first game back from injury.Rivers has a fantastic matchup against a Chiefs D that is 25th against fantasy quarterbacks.
