| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | Courtland Sutton's 2025 finish once again outpaced his underlying usage, as strong touchdown production helped propel him into the top-12 overall WRs despite modest efficiency (20th in PPG). Before the Week 12 bye week, Sutton was outside the top-30 WRs in PPG. Denver's passing attack now looks significantly EVEN more crowded after the addition of Jaylen Waddle, and the Broncos enter 2026 with virtually no vacated volume available. Sutton still profiles as an important red-zone target for Bo Nix, but his declining efficiency metrics and growing competition raise concerns about his fantasy ceiling. At age 31, Sutton feels more like a volume-dependent WR3 than a true alpha receiver moving forward. | Jayden Higgins had a quiet rookie season statistically, but the Texans' second-round pick showed encouraging flashes once his role expanded late in the year. Higgins started earning more playing time after Week 10 and proved capable of stepping up whenever Nico Collins missed time, flashing both touchdown upside and starter-level usage. Entering Year 2, Higgins is positioned as Houston's full-time No. 2 receiver with clear contingent upside if Collins were ever sidelined. He's an appealing late-round depth target in deeper fantasy formats, especially given the coaching staff's confidence in his long-term potential. |
| Derek Brown FantasyPros | Over the last two seasons, Courtland Sutton has been the unquestioned WR1 for Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos. In those seasons, he finished as the WR18 and WR24 in fantasy points per game. The arrival of Jaylen Waddle will change that this year. Sutton still can be a highly productive player in a pass-happy offense, but he'll take a backseat to Waddle. Last year, Denver was fourth in pass rate over expectation and passing attempts (per Fantasy Points Data). His per-route data remained solid, but it wasn't spectacular outside of his separation score and route win rate (20th, ninth). Last year, among 109 qualifying receivers, Sutton was 35th in target per route run rate, 32nd in yards per route run, and 29th in first downs per route run. I expect the passing attack to condense around Waddle and Sutton with all of the other receiving options falling in behind them as matchup/coverage specific chess pieces. Sutton is a WR2/3 for 2026. | We should always be looking to take swings on talented second-year wide receivers for fantasy football, and Jayden Higgins fits the bill as a possible late-round breakout candidate for 2026. Last year, in Weeks 8-18, Higgins had seven finishes as a WR3 or better in weekly scoring. During that stretch, Higgins, among 119 qualifying receivers, also ranked 24th in target per route run rate (24%) and 38th in first downs per route run (per Fantasy Points Data). During those 11 games, among the same group of 119 receivers, Higgins was also 28th in yards per route run and 25th in route win rate as a perimeter receiver. If C.J. Stroud can at least be a league-average passer in 2026, Higgins could be a weekly WR2/3 or flex option. He also has contingent upside if Nico Collins misses any time. |
