| Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | Juwan Johnson quietly put together the best season of his career in 2025, finishing with 77 catches, 889 yards and three touchdowns. That added up to a TE10 finish in half-point PPR scoring despite the relatively low TD count. The arrival of rookie WR Jordan Tyson, the eighth overall pick in this year's draft, could cut into Johnson's target total. But Tyson had injury problems in college, and veteran Saints WR Chris Olave has had health issues as well. An injury to either would likely boost Johnson's target totals. The fast pace favored by Saints head coach and playcaller Kellen Moore is another thing working in Johnson's favor. | |
| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | Emeka Egbuka's rookie season was a rollercoaster, but the underlying usage points toward a major Year 2 breakout in Tampa Bay. The former Ohio State standout earned elite target volume for a rookie and looked like a future star early in the season before injuries and shifting usage slowed his momentum late in the year (top-10 WR from Weeks 1-11). With Mike Evans gone, Egbuka is positioned for a much larger role in Zac Robinson's offense. He is one of the more appealing second-year breakout WR candidates in fantasy football. | Juwan Johnson finished 5th in catches (77) and third in yards (889) among TEs in 2025, but he only scored three TDs (TE15 in PPG). It wasn't always pretty (tied for league-high 7 drops per PFF), but the WR-TE convert made the most of his sheer volume. The Saints already paid him a decent chunk of change, and there's currently little competition in the receiver room outside of Chris Olave and former 7th-round pick DeVaughn Vele. Johnson was the TE9 in PPG after the team traded Rashid Shaheed (9.1) before the deadline (with Tyler Shough making all but one of those starts). With Shough from Week 10 onward, Johnson averaged over 61 receiving yards per game. However, they did also add Noah Fant in free agency, and they drafted WR Jordyn Tyson and TE Oscar Delp in the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft. |
| Derek Brown FantasyPros | Emeka Egbuka could crush his mid WR2 draft cost this season. Egbuka faded after Week 5 last year after he sustained a hamstring injury, and Baker Mayfield's injury severely impacted his ability to feed catchable targets to the receiving options in Tampa Bay. In Weeks 1-5, Egbuka was the WR3 in fantasy points per game, commanding a 22.1% target share with 89 receiving yards per game, 2.71 yards per route run, a 26.1% first-read share, and 0.104 first downs per route run (per Fantasy Points Data). Had Egbuka kept up that pace all season, he would have ranked 19th in target share, third in receiving yards per game, fourth in yards per route run, 26th in first-read share, and 20th in first downs per route run. Sadly, he didn't keep up that pace. In Weeks 6-18, despite still drawing a 23.1% target share with a 28.9% first-read share, Egbuka had only 41.1 receiving yards per game, 1.50 yards per route run, and 0.052 first downs per route run as the WR55 in fantasy points per game. If Egbuka had closed the season with the flurry of production instead of the other way around, fantasy gamers would be foaming at the mouth to draft him this season. Consider me a rabid drafter hellbent upon drafting as much Egbuka as possible this season. Entering his second season with Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan as his primary competition for targets, Egbuka can establish himself as the team's clear WR1 and return WR1/2 production. | |
