Brett Howden provided the primary assist on Greg McKegg's early first period goal as the Rangers jumped out to a 1-0 lead against the Kings Sunday.

Howden has been disappointing this season with only seven goals and 14 points through 54 games. He is supposed to be one of the building blocks to the team's rebuild process and they will need him to step it up if he is to remain a part of the picture for the long-term.
