Mike Ribeiro settles assault lawsuit

The Associated Press reports on ESPN.com Nashville Predators Center Mike Ribeiro has settled his sexual assault case outside of court. (ESPN.com)

This is good news for Ribeiro to put this case to rest. The stigma of the case likely cost Ribeiro some in free agency, but he was still able to agree to a two year, $7 million deal with the Nashville Predators. Last season Ribeiro revitalized his career in Nashville leading the team with 47 assists and adding 15 goals. He was second on the team in points with 62, only one behind Filip Forsberg. Expect Ribeiro to have a similar impact this upcoming season as the team's first line center.
