Site Update: New Features | New Experts | New Kid

My pregnant wife is a little pissed that “new kid” is third on this priority list, but she’s not due for another week so I’m sticking with the pecking order. I’m actually hoping they have wi-fi available in the delivery room just in case the timing overlaps with one of my drafts (sadly, I’m not really joking — auto drafting can kill you!). Speaking of drafts, we recently launched some new features on the site that should help you give birth to a healthy lineup of fantasy baseball studs this March. Check out what’s new…

ADP from Yahoo, ESPN, CBS and Fox
As most of you know, ADP (Average Draft Position) is a critical piece of information that helps guide when to grab your favorite sleepers and value picks. It’s also great material for smack talk during the draft. You know, “Dude, you could have waited three more rounds to grab that waste of a pick!” Well, now you have access to ADP from all the major commissioner services on one page. This is real ADP data, not mock draft data. We also provide the average of all the sources on our ADP page and our ECR page (where you can view potential draft day bargains by comparing ECR to ADP).

Consensus Auction Values
For those of you in auction drafts, we’ve pulled in Dollar Values from multiple sources so you can see a range of recommended values. Obviously, the right amount to bid is highly dependent on how your league is valuing players during your auction (remaining budgets, position scarcity, and your own team’s needs are fluid throughout a draft). These dollar values can provide a good benchmark, though, so you don’t do anything too crazy. If you’re not in an auction draft, this data could still be helpful by providing a basis for player tiers (i.e. players with similar dollar values belong in the same tier).

Draft Wizard for CBS Sports
If you play on CBS, check out our Draft Wizard in CBS’s fantasy apps directory. This tool helps you make faster and more accurate decisions during your draft. The Draft Wizard uses our ECR™ rankings to show you the top 3 available players at any point in your draft, along with how these players compare for your league’s roto scoring categories. If you don’t want to fumble with monster cheat sheets or complicated software, this is the perfect tool for you.

Additional Projection Sources
We’re up to 10 sources now for our Zeile Projections. Consensus projections have proven to be very accurate since they tend to weed out the outlier predictions. You can even customize the sources you want to use for the consensus by simply clicking “edit sources” and picking your trusted systems. Remember that we also provide a way to see the high and low projections for every player, and even the detailed player stats from every source (just go to the player’s page and click on the Projections tab).

Additional Experts in our ECR™
We now have close to 50 fantasy baseball experts in our consensus rankings. Our newest participants are from Rotoworld, Razzball, FanGraphs, Fox Sports, and USA Today (Steve happens to be the reigning NL Tout Wars Champion from 2011…if you don’t know what Tout Wars is, watch this movie). A warm welcome goes out to…

USA Today: Steve Gardner
Razzball: Grey Albright
Rotoworld: Drew Silva and D.J. Short
FanGraphs: Eno Sarris, Zach Sanders, Mike Podhorzer and Jeff Zimmerman
Fox Sports: Ryan Fowler, Mike Harmon, Joel Beall and John Halpin

Keep in mind that you can pick two or more experts to create your own custom consensus cheat sheet. Just click on “edit experts” once you’re on the ECR page.

Accuracy Rankings
We still have a lot of new features in the pipeline for March that we think you’ll love. On deck to go live this week are our Accuracy Scores. We’ll tell you who had the most accurate fantasy baseball cheat sheet last year, out of the 25 experts we tracked. Stay tuned for that post in a couple days (consider this heads-up as the start of the drum roll).

Many more features and enhancements to come…if you like our free tools, please help us spread the word on Facebook and Twitter!
