With that in mind, let’s take a look at how our accuracy contest is shaping up now that another week is complete. We’ll break down which experts nailed their week 13 predictions and also examine what impact there has been to the YTD standings.

Kudos to Mike Krueger (FFToday) for coming through with the most accurate rankings in week 13. Krueger’s positional picks rated in the top 10 at QB, RB & WR. There’s no doubt his best call was a decision to slot Cam Newton (300+ yards & 3 TDs) as his #1 QB. That was a bold move no other expert we tracked (100 total) was willing to make, yet it paid off in a major way as Newton finished as the week’s top QB. For the receivers, Krueger rated top 5 performer (his WR #11), Steve Smith, higher than all other experts. He also had a nice sleeper hit with his decision to slot Sidney Rice (a top 10 performer) inside his 30 best WRs. Only 7 other prognosticators made the same call. Of course, it also never hurts to have a good read on several of the week’s top busts. Krueger did just that by ranking both Beanie Wells (22 yards) & Chris Johnson (71 total yards, 1 fumble) lower than all but a handful of experts.

Make it 8 weeks in a row for Jody Smith (Gridiron Experts) as the #1 expert in the season standings. We’re running out of superlatives to shower upon Smith so we’ll just put it this way: He’s virtually the anti-Eagles (8 losses in a row) of this competition. Another clutch showing this past week (#11 Overall) allowed Smith to increase his lead just as the Sablich Brothers (The New York Times) seemed poised to overtake the #1 spot. With only 3 weeks left in the contest, the accuracy title is still up for grabs but Smith has definitely strengthened his position.

That does it for this week’s accuracy recap. We’ll check back in next week to provide another update on the top experts. In the meantime, best of luck to everyone with your upcoming fantasy matchups.
