I believed in Matt Moore. During the preseason I heralded him as an undervalued pitcher. Through May 25, he proved me right with a record of 8-0 with a 2.21 ERA. Then on May 31 he threw just one inning due to a rain delay and he’s been lousy ever since. Over his last three starts he is 0-3 with a 13.86 ERA. He’s given up 19 earned runs in 12.1 horrible innings, walking and striking out 11 batters. Batters hit .448 against him in those three games. The bottom line here is that you should bench him if you own him. Bench him until he has a pair of quality starts, and hope he isn’t hiding an elbow injury.
There are lots of options for streaming this week, so don’t fret, Moore owners. You can find at least one good pitching matchup on your waiver wire every day in 12-team leagues.
