Week 3’s Most Accurate Fantasy Experts

Week 3’s Most Accurate Fantasy Experts

There was no shortage of monster performances in week 3. A whopping four RBs had 3 rushing TDs and seven WRs hauled in multiple TD passes. Of course, there was also Aaron Rodgers. With another 5 TDs (and 0 INTs), Rodgers has now thrown a “modest” 48 touchdowns since his last interception at Lambeau field…all the way back in 2012! Fun times, indeed.

In the midst of all this, our expert accuracy competition has now been running for 3 weeks. Each individual week so far has had a different expert serve up the best advice. If this holds up, we’ll certainly be in store for some drama of our own as we look to crown the year’s top expert.

Let’s take a look at the top experts from week 3 as well as how the Year-to-Date Leaderboard is shaping up.

Congrats to week 3’s most accurate expert: Scott Pianowski (Yahoo! Sports). With the top-rated RB rankings, Pianowski was among a group of just 7% of experts that had Joseph Randle (105 yards, 3 TDs) slotted as a top 10 RB. He also helped fantasy owners spot value with Ryan Mathews (+9 rank spots vs. consensus) while avoiding the hype surrounding Jonathan Stewart (-9 spots vs. consensus). Stewart was considered by many to be a prime play against a leaky Saints’ defense. Unfortunately, he continued to struggle (52 yards, 0 TDs) to produce real or fantasy value at RB. At WR, Pianowski had a good read on Steve Smith (his WR #16). Only 8 of the 134 experts we monitored were higher on Smith and this wound up being sound advice as the Ravens’ veteran erupted for 13 catches, 186 yards and 2 TDs. Pianowski also gets credit for showing faith in Jeremy Maclin (his WR#15) at a time when it wasn’t necessarily easy to trust KC wideouts (you know, the whole inability to score a TD since 2013 thing). Maclin finally ended that streak and delivered to the tune of 141 receiving yards on 8 receptions. Pianowski’s rank for Maclin was above 91% of experts.
