Angels starting pitcher Tommy Hanson could return May 25, the next time the Angels need a fifth starter, the Los Angeles Times reports. Hanson, who is on the bereavement list after the death of his step-brother, last pitched May 4.
Angels starter Tommy Hanson had no timetable to be activated off the bereavement list as of Tuesday, manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com.
Hanson has missed three turns through the rotation while he's been dealing with his step-brother's death. He was previously on the bereavement list before a short return to the team.
Angels starting pitcher Tommy Hanson, who was scratched Friday, will miss at least a second-consecutive turn through the rotation while he is on the bereavement list due to family issues."He's working through the process," manager Mike Scioscia said. "He's been in contact with a lot of us, and hopefully he'll get through this tough situation and be ready to come back."Barry Enright will start again...
“Tommy is at a 5 finger discount with his rough Spring and still possibly not 100%. This is a long season and he will eventually be healthy, and when that time comes he could be a Top 20 Pitcher. The K's will be there, the ERA will remain solid, and the Wins could reach 14+. Do not sleep on Hanson because of a bad injured 2012.”
