CBS Sports | Apr 29th, 5:34am
With the Marlins’ offense struggling in a major way recently, manager Ozzie Guillen decided to drop his slumping leadoff hitter Jose Reyes down one spot on Saturday, flip-flopping Reyes with Bonifacio. Reyes responded by going 1 for 2 at the plate, driving in the Marlins first run of the game in the seventh inning. Reyes also walked twice, one of them intentionally, to raise his on base percentage...

“What do we know about the Marlins and their new park? They play at sea level and the park is big. Since Reyes doesn't have a ton of power, but he does get lots of doubles and triples, the park could potentially work in his favor, much like Citi Field. Also, he cut his hair without getting hurt. So, uh, there's that. ”

“Reyes bounced back last year with to lead the league in hitting (.337), score 100 runs, and steal 39 bases, but he did miss some time with hamstring issues. This is the scariest part of owning Jose Reyes. He isn't going to steal 60 bases any longer, but he will likely get you 40.”

“Reyes has 80 SB potential. In fact the last season he played 160 games he stole 78. Now moving to Florida, all hands are off deck as they want to see their money pay off. Reyes will have the green light over and over again, just remember how dominant Bonifacio was out of nowhere last season.”
