"We've been talking how to get him going. Physically, the hand still isn't 100 percent," Roenicke said. "He usually is really adamant on telling me 'no'. But I explained some things to him, to maybe take a physical...

However, that would be his only hit of the contest as he finished 1 for 5 with three strikeouts.

“Health has always been the main concern with Rickie Weeks. He's only had one healthy season in his career, but when he's healthy, he's one of the best. If he's healthy for an entire season, he'll hit .270 with 30 HR and 15 SB. Don't be afraid to pick him because of his health. 2nd Base is probably the deepest position, so if you pick Weeks, just piggyback him with a player like Espinosa, Kipnis, or Rickie's brother, Jemile.”

“Weeks was having a career year up until he was sidelined with...no, not a wrist injury, but an ankle injury. Weeks seems to be bitten by the injury bug every year. Still a 20-10 threat, but Weeks won't have the luxury of Prince Fielder sitting behind him for protection. ”

“Weeks in a full season is a 20/20 player with the potential for more. Problem is, he has only had one full healthy season in his 10 years as a pro. You can take him with the hope he puts it all together, and does stay healthy. But there is a risk.”
