Brandon LaFell (foot) did not practice Monday, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports. LaFell remains on the Patriots' preseason PUP list, not to mention on a 53-man roster projection posted Monday on Patriots.com, though the possibility that the veteran wideout could open the coming season on the team's PUP list was offered up. Fantasy Impact: With fantasy drafts in full swing, many owners are wondering whether or not to draft Brandon LaFell. At this point it looks like a strong possibility that he ends up on the PUP list and will miss a good chunk of the season. Picking up Reggie Wayne and trading for Jalen Saunders also indicates that the Patriots are preparing for no LaFell at the beginning of the season.

Fantasy Impact: While thought to be a main target for the Pats passing game (#2 WR according to ECR for NE) LaFell has provided fantasy owners with lots of doubt and concern. Do not forget, LaFell showed up in spring practices in a walking boot. Stash if you can, or look for an alternative.

Draft LaFell only if he falls a couple rounds (he often does)

Foot injury is bad news and Pats like to spread it out anyways. Tough to love him if he hits the PUP list like rumors suggest

Any Patriots receiver not named Gronkowski or Edelman carries some risk, but LaFell played well last season and is the only big play wide receiver they have. I think a season much like last year's is very much in play this year. You just have to realize the game plan will often dictate if he has a productive fantasy game. UPDATE: There is some concern that his foot injury could keep him out of early season games. This idea is propped up by the signing of Reggie Wayne.

Health has become a major worry as he has yet to suit up this summer. Could began season on PUP.

Starting on the PUP list. Value pick and one I would recommend taking for a sure 1,000 yards and 8 TDs. Wonderful bye-week filler.

The New England Patriots may be quite under-manned when they begin their season against the Pittsburgh Steelers roughly two weeks from now. Already almost certainly…
