Tom Brady will get his numbers. 4,000 Yards is automatic, and Danny Amendola is more than capable of being the #1 Option. While Gronk is the #1 option, Amendola will be an amazing #2 in the passing game for Brady. Danny was able to get numbers being the only WR in a Sam Bradford offense, he will definitely get numbers as the sometimes goto option for Brady.Steve Smith is a burner. He is also the clear #1 WR for Cam Newton who will be unstoppable in 2013. While Smith has been plagued by Cam's inconsistency in 2012, we all know that Smith can be a 1300 Yard/13 TD WR. Cam is on a mission, and it all starts with throwing the ball deep to Steve.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
The Bills were 14th against fantasy receivers last year, but that was with CB Stephon Gilmore in the lineup. They are going to have no answers for Amendola in the opener.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Buffalo is without their top corner so Amendola could have a rocking debut.Seattle corners are brutal, so Smith may not be an elite option this week.
Staff Rankings
Fantasy Football Freaks
I think Danny is going to be a big contributor in the Patriots offense this year. Plays the 15th ranked Buffalo Bills pass D.
Staff Rankings
FFLockerRoom
Danny is a high-volume receiver with 153 receptions in his past 28 games. Consider Amendola a low-end No.2/high-end No.3 WR in standard leagues that could approach 100 receptions as Welker's replacement if he can stay healthy, making him a potential No.2 in PPR formats. Look for Amendola to be drafted in Round 5 in the majority of all leagues.Smith has never posted consecutive seasons with less than 7 touchdowns since 2001-02 (throwing out 2004 when he got hurt in Week 1). Smith's age makes him a bit scary as he'll be 34 when the season starts but he's still worth drafting as a No. 2 Fantasy WR with a pick starting in Round 6.
Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
His possible groin injury is worrisome, but I truly doubt he'll play against a Buffalo team the Patriots should have an easy time with if he's not going to play fully. He is the #1 target for Brady and I should be the top point getter with Gronkowski out.Richard Sherman and the Seahawks pass defense shut him down last season with Cam Newton targeting Smith 13 times and him only catching 4 of those for 40 yards and no touchdowns. I’ll be shying away from targeting any receiver facing Sherman this season.
Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
Solid WR2 potential in a depleted vertical attack for the Patriots.
Jordan Tozzi
Legion Report
Plagued with injuries every year, if Amendola can stay healthy in 2013 – envision a Wes Welker type season from Amendola. Production directly correlates with health. If drafting Amendola as your number two option at WR, grab another decent option to back him up.At age 33, Smith is in the physical shape of a 25 year old. The 1,000 yard season should be there, but you’re looking at a WR who gives you minimal TDs – (4 TDs in 2012). Smith is a good 2WR and a strong 3WR option.
