Fantasy Impact: Caufield continues a scorching stretch in the offensive zone of late, tallying points in 13 of his last 14 games (eight goals, 10 assists) for the Canadiens. The talented 23-year-old is one of few consistent offensive options for a gritty Montreal forward group for head coach Martin St. Louis, posting 45 points (19 goals, 26 assists) in 54 games so far this season.

Sam Montembeault was resilient between the pipes for the Canadiens Saturday, stopping 35 of 38 shots faced in a 3-2 loss to the Stars.

Fantasy Impact: Montembeault has been a victim of a lack of defensive support of late, facing at least 30 shots in each of his last nine games (5-3-1), allowing three or more goals in six of those nine contests for the Canadiens. The netminder continues to carry the torch for a Montreal squad that continues to struggle to support the talented 27-year-old, posting a .908 save percentage and 3.06 GAA in 25 appearances (12-8-4) in the crease so far this season.

Fantasy Impact: Suzuki continues a torrid stretch in the offensive zone of late, tallying points in eight of his last 10 games (four goals, nine assists) for the Canadiens. The talented center remains an impactful lineup option for fantasy managers as part of a gritty Montreal squad, recording 47 points (16 goals, 31 assists) in 51 games so far this season.

Fantasy Impact: Allen was up to the task guarding the crease against an aggressive Winnipeg offensive attack Saturday night, carrying a .933 save percentage in picking up the win. The netminder continues to remain a solid No. 1 option in the crease for fantasy managers, posting a .930 save percentage and 2.63 GAA in four starts (3-0-1) in net so far this season.


Sean Monahan was able to find the back of the net for the Canadiens Saturday night, scoring one goal in a 4-3 shootout win over the Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Monahan has caught fire in the offensive zone of late for the Canadiens, tallying points in four of his last five games for the club. The veteran forward is one of many reasons for the surprising start to the season for Montreal, posting seven points (four goals, three assists) in eight games so far this season.


Kirby Dach was able to light the lamp for the Canadiens Saturday, scoring one goal in a 4-3 win over the Islanders.

Fantasy Impact: Dach has been strong in the offensive zone of late for the Canadiens, picking up points in eight of his last 13 games (seven goals, four assists) for the club. The 22-year-old will look to continue to turn around a disappointing start to the season in his new home for fantasy owners, recording 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists) in 52 games so far this season.

Brendan Gallagher was able to find the back of the net for the Canadiens Thursday, scoring one goal in a 3-2 win over the Sabres.

Fantasy Impact: Gallagher has now scored goals in two of his last four games for the Canadiens, operating as more of an asset on both ends for the club. The 30-year-old has offered little consistent production for fantasy owners to this point and his hard to trust on a nightly basis. Gallagher has scored just two goals through the first eight games of the season.

Josh Anderson picked up two points for the Canadiens Thursday night, scoring one goal and adding one assist in a 3-2 win over the Sabres.

Fantasy Impact: Anderson has picked up points in two of his last four games for the Canadiens while recording 10 shots in that span. The 28-year-old continues to struggle to produce consistently, although the winger can pile up points in bunches in stretches. Anderson has scored three goals and added one assist through eight games to begin the season.

Fantasy Impact: The Canadiens selected Beck with the 33rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. The Ontario native collected 21 goals and 51 points across 68 games for the OHL's Mississauga Steelheads last season and has been a standout at Canadiens training camp. However, Beck's fantasy impact remains in the future.


Carey Price stopped 28 of 30 shots in a 2-0 loss to the Wild. Minnesota scored one goal on even strength and one on the power play.

Fantasy Impact: Price falls to 0-2-0 this season. Considering the remaining schedule for the Canadiens, he offers little fantasy value.

Jeff Petry registered his 15th and 16th assists of the season in a 8-4 loss to Washington. He finished with a +2 rating, two SOG, two hits, and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Petry has four points in his last five games. He has 20 points in 62 games this season and is not a viable fantasy option.

Former Montreal Canadiens forward Artturi Lehkonen has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for prospect defenseman Justin Barron and a 2024 second-round pick. Fantasy Impact: Lehkonen, just 26, is a fantastic middle-six player who makes his teammates around him better. Largely considered the darling of hockey analytics, he is an extremely underrated player who will significantly improve Colorado's cup chances. He has 13 goals, 16 assists, and 29 points this season, while managing to have a 0 plus/minus rating despite being on one of the worst teams in the history of the NHL. As good as he is in real life, his skills don't quite translate to fantasy. However, while he should not be on fantasy rosters at the present moment, he may become a valuable commodity surrounded by better talent on a contending roster. Montreal gets a decent return for their best player this season as they begin their rebuild.

Fantasy Impact: Ben Chiarot is on pace for the best statistical season of his career on a last place Montreal Canadiens team. Chiarot is now joining a very talented Florida Panthers team that currently find themselves at the top of the NHL standings. The big defenseman is all but a lock to further increase his point production.

Tyler Toffoli grabbed his 17th assist of the season in a 5-2 loss to Washington.

Fantasy Impact: Toffoli has 26 points in 35 games this season and has at least one point in four of his last five games. He is really the only one providing any sort of consistent production on the Canadiens for fantasy purposes.

Canadiens goaltender Cayden Primeau was solid in net Saturday night, stopping 43 of 46 shots faced for a .935 save percentage in a 3-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Fantasy Impact: Primeau is nothing more than a dart throw at this point that will split time in net with Sam Montembeault behind a highly suspect Canadiens defense corps.

Fantasy Impact: Drouin has picked up assists in two consecutive games for Montreal. Drouin has just six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 31 games.

Canadiens center Christian Dvorak scored two goals Tuesday night in the Canadiens 5-3 win over the Stars.

Fantasy Impact: Dvorak recorded points for the first time in his last five games for Montreal and at this point with just seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 31 games, Dvorak can stay on the waiver wire.

Michael Pezzetta scored the only Canadiens goal in their 5-1 loss to the Bruins on Wednesday. He had one goal, two PIM, one SOG and three hits in 12:11 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact: Pezzetta has two goals and two assists in 22 games need I say more.

Joel Armia assisted on the Montreal Canadiens' lone Thursday night against the Colorado Avalanche. He only contributed a single hit in addition to the assist.

Fantasy Impact: Armia has been quiet all year, and hasn't been fantasy relevant since his 2019-2020 season where he scored 30 points in 58 games. His five points this season is not enough to consider rostering him in most fantasy leagues.
