It looks like the timeshare in New Orleans is real and Tim Hightower will get his shot to tote the rock, but chances are, he’s long gone in your league now. There’s no reason to fret though, as the waiver wire has some RBs and WRs that can help fill in your team’s gaps.

We asked our featured pundits to rank the top readily-available waiver wire options for you to help with your decision-making.

Q1. Give us your thoughts on a waiver wire target (or two) you especially like as a pickup.

J.J. Nelson has earned more playing time in the Arizona offense and therefore is my top waiver wire target this week. Coach Arians has confirmed that Nelson will be a starter going forward and will be in on all 3 receiver sets and Nelson rewarded his coach in the last game catching 8 passes on 12 targets for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. While we can’t expect that sort of production every game, he clearly is starting to carve out a bigger role in the offense and has a great matchup against San Francisco this week. He should be one of your top targets especially if you need WR help.”
Brendan Donahue (EDSFootball)

J.J. Nelson is the top grab of the week on the waiver wire. He has been promoted to a starter opposite Larry Fitzgerald and is putting up very usable numbers in an offense that will throw the ball. He can get you through the final bye-weeks or injury spot-starts.”
James Hatfield (Hatty Waiver Wire Guru)

“I’m highly recommending picking up Kenneth Dixon this week before it is too late and you have to spend $60 FAAB on him 7 days from now. Dixon had a rough go against a bad defense last weekend, then left the game with a chest contusion, but he should be back in action against the Browns for Week 10, which is when he will break out. The Ravens’ staff has spoke highly about him all season, and we finally saw the touches start to flow his way versus the Steelers.”

Rishard Matthews now has five touchdowns over his last five games after his two-score performance against the Chargers. His 10 targets were the most of his season, which shows he’s becoming more than a touchdown-dependent option.”

“Is Colin Kaepernick a good quarterback in real life? Not necessarily, but his running ability and the fact that the 49ers will likely be playing from behind a lot gives Kaepernick a good boost in fantasy value. Marqise Lee is another intriguing pickup. He’s somewhat frustrating in that he doesn’t produce consistently, but he has just as many yards as Allen Robinson (442) and has three more catches than Allen Hurns (34 to 31). Plus, he’ll produce more in leagues that reward return yardage points.”
Zach Greubel (Gridiron Experts)

Q2. For owners renting a D/ST in Week 10, what readily available option should they target and why?

“If Baltimore is still available in your league they should be your top target on defense this week. They get a struggling Browns offense that only managed to score 10 points on a Dallas defense missing some key pieces and are now coming in on a short week. Add that to the fact the Ravens held Pittsburgh to 14 points last week, mostly coming in garbage time, and scored on special teams, the Ravens should be a top 5 defense this week.”
Brendan Donahue (EDSFootball)

“The Ravens are coming off a stellar defensive performance against Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. They’ve been flying under the radar for the most part this season, but the Ravens have already forced 14 turnovers in 2016. They’re a top waiver wire add this week against a dismal Cleveland Browns squad.”
Zach Greubel (Gridiron Experts)

Baltimore is the defense to stream this week against Cleveland. They really showed what they can do against Pitt this last week and I expect them to do well again in Week 10.”
James Hatfield (Hatty Waiver Wire Guru)

Chicago is quietly emerging into a steady fantasy defense, having put up 28 standard-league fantasy points in their last three games. They come off of a bye this week and are treated to Jameis Winston and all of the Bucs’ banged up skills players. Expect several turnovers and a top 8 DST performance in Week 10.”
Bobby Sylvester (FantasyPros)

“The Chargers are now the 7th ranked fantasy D/ST heading into Monday night after topping all defenses with 14 standard fantasy points against the Titans in Week 9 (2 TDs, 2 INT, 1 FR). Next up is a home game against the Dolphins, the 10th best matchup for opposing D/ST on the season.”
Sablich Brothers (5th Down Fantasy)
