Welcome to the Week 17 edition of the FanDuel value plays. Week 17 features a full 16 games on the main slate. Week 17 typically is not that straight forward since some teams already have playoff spots locked up and have nothing to play for. Remember to always be up to date on injury news up until roster lock on Sunday, in case any more value options pop up. Let’s go ahead and dive right into my favorite value options on FanDuel for Week 17.

Quarterback
Landry Jones (PIT): $6,000 vs. CLE
The Steelers have nothing to play for, so they have ruled Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown out for Sunday’s game against the Browns. Jones will draw the start, and he has been decent in the past when filling in for Big Ben. Earlier this season he started against the Patriots and threw for 281 yards and a touchdown. He should have a much easier time against the Browns and is a solid value play this week.
Running Back
Jacquizz Rodgers (TB): $5,200 vs. CAR
The Buccaneers still have a shot at making the playoffs, but it’s going to be a longshot since they have to rely on about four other teams to win and even a tie in the Packers and Lions game. With that being said, the Buccaneers will still try and do everything they can to win this game. Doug Martin has been suspended four games for PEDs, which means Rodgers will get the start again. Rodgers has had some good games this season when filling in for Martin, including 129 yards on 30 carries and five receptions against this same Panthers team back in Week 5.
Fitzgerald Toussaint (PIT): $4,500 vs. CLE
As I mentioned earlier, the Steelers have already declared that Le’Veon Bell would sit out this week against the Browns. The Steelers still have DeAngelo Williams, but it is sounding like they will be cautious with him this week meaning that Toussaint should see the bulk of the carries. If Toussaint gets at least 15 touches, he should be able to do quite a bit of damage against the Browns, who have allowed the second-most FanDuel points to opposing running backs.
Wide Receiver
Eli Rogers (PIT): $4,700 vs. CLE
Another Steelers’ value option to consider this week is Rogers. With Antonio Brown out, Rogers should see a heavy dosage of targets as the primary receiver for Landry Jones. A stack of Jones, Toussaint and Rogers would probably be a nice contrarian approach to GPPs this weekend. I probably would not use Jones in cash games since you should be able to pay up for Aaron Rodgers, but you could use Toussaint and Rogers together in your cash game lineup.
Jermaine Kearse (SEA): $4,500 at SF
Tyler Lockett went down with a gruesome broken leg last week against the Cardinals. After Lockett exited, Kearse was the primary beneficiary with four receptions, 37 yards and a touchdown. Kearse should be in line for a decent amount of targets this week against the 49ers, and he should have no problem facing off against the 49ers’ slot cornerback, who has been one of the worst in the league according to the grades at Pro Football Focus.
Golden Tate (DET): $5,700 at GB
The Cowboys were able to keep Tate in check last week with only six receptions and 58 yards. I believe that Tate will bounce back this week in a huge game against the Packers, where the winner becomes the NFC North champion. The Packers have been awful in the secondary this season, allowing the most FanDuel points to opposing wide receivers.
Tight End
C.J. Fiedorowicz (HOU): $4,800 at TEN
Fiedorowicz did not have a good game last Saturday night against the Bengals. However, he was clearly still involved with seven targets. He should be able to bounce back this week against the Titans, who have nothing left to play for. Even though the Texans have nothing to play for, I doubt they rest anyone who is healthy on offense, since they want to allow Tom Savage to gain some chemistry with his receivers heading into the playoffs.
Kicker
Kai Forbath (MIN): $4,500 vs. CHI
Forbath has been consistent since the Vikings signed him after releasing Blair Walsh. In six games this season, Forbath has kicked at least two field goals in every game but one (his first game with the Vikings). Even though neither team in this matchup has anything to play for, the Vikings should be able to put Forbath in a good spot to kick some field goals.
D/ST
Houston Texans: $4,600 at TEN
The Texans should be in a good spot to shut down the Titans since Tennessee has nothing to play for. Also, Matt Cassel will be starting for the injured Marcus Mariota, and Cassel is not a very good NFL quarterback. The Texans should be able to get some sacks and possibly force Cassel into making some bad decisions, leading to some turnovers.
