FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Thursday (2/22)

FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Thursday (2/22)

We have an 11-game slate on tap tonight, and there are some truly fantastic options all across the board. As of right now, there are four games which have over-unders set at six or higher, so you want to look there for offense.

Center

Tyler Bozak (TOR): $4,900 vs. NYI
Bozak and the Maple Leafs are up against the Islanders, who have given up the most goals in the league this season, giving up well over three goals per game. Anytime they are on the slate you can stack against them and feel confident. He is the first part of a Toronto stack we will be looking at, which is focused in on the third forward line. He has points in three straight games.

Nathan MacKinnon (COL): $7,900 @ EDM
MacKinnon is coming off a massive four-point game and is now up against the Oilers who are one of the worst teams in the league, along with giving up over three goals per game. Full power-play stacking going here, which should provide massive multi-point upside, which is exactly what you want in tournaments. There will be plenty of ice time for him, along with his near three shots per game.

Wing

James Van Riemsdyk (TOR): $6,900 vs. NYI
JVR is the next part of this Toronto stack, and he comes into this game with goals in two straight. He is taking just under three shots per game, which should be a benefit tonight since he is up against this very weak Islanders team. JVR is also on the third forward line and also sees time on the second power-play unit.

Connor Brown (TOR): $4,000 vs. NYI
Brown has two points over his last three games and is one of the cheaper members on this stack. He is clearly one of the riskier players, but with the total in this game, you want to have as much exposure as possible. Also combined with the fact we have a full slate, you are looking at a low-ownership play who sees time on the power-play.

Gabriel Landeskog (COL): $6,300 @ EDM
Landeskog has four points in his last five games and is also apart of this Avalanche first power-play unit. This game has an over-under sitting at six, with Colorado having an implied goal total at 2.80, so we should be expecting them to score some goals. The Oilers are terrible on defense this season, and we should be looking to attack them anytime they are on the slate. Landeskog is taking more than two shots per game and can chip in with a blocked shot every now and then.

Mikko Rantanen (COL): $6,700 @ EDM
Rantanen has five points in his last five games and is also on this Avalanche stack. We have really strong correlation with this stack since they are on the top forward line and the top power-play together, so the multi-point upside is massive here. He is taking over two shots per game and is one of the more consistent members of this stack. You could also use him as a one-off in other lineups.

Defense

Travis Dermott (TOR): $3,800 vs. NYI
Dermott is somewhat of a punt play, but adding him to this stack isn’t a bad thing. Yes, he is a rookie with only 19 games of experience, but he has three points in his last four games and is seeing just under 20 minutes of ice time per game. He is also chipping in with a few shots and blocked shots, so he’s offering decent production out of a value play.

Tyson Barrie (COL): $5,400 @ EDM
Barrie is coming off a massive 51 fantasy point night, which won’t happen every game, but still indicates his ceiling. He had one goal and four assists in the Avalanche’s most recent game against Vancouver, which all came on the power-play. If this stack has that potential upside, then you certainly want some exposure to them in any format you can get it. He is also taking over two shots per game and blocking over one shot per game.

Goalie

Pekka Rinne (NSH): $8,900 vs. SJ
Rinne is at home and a -170 favorite according to Vegas, so he is looking very likely to come away with the win. He has three wins in his last four starts and has seen 30 or more shots in five straight games. This means he is in a spot to put up plenty of points from saves and come away with the much-needed fantasy win.
