Carlos Rodon (CWS): $8,800 at DET
There are plenty of pitching options on this 14-game slate, but potential rain situations elevate the risk factor of several hurlers. Jose Berrios, Madison Bumgarner, Jordan Lyles, and Corey Kluber fall into that category. You could climb the salary ladder with Justin Verlander, but Carlos Rodon is a fine alternative if you don’t have the necessary funds. There’s a chance of precipitation for Rodon, but the risk isn’t nearly as severe as those aforementioned options. Rodon boasts a healthy strikeout rate that could lead to healthy fantasy production against a Detroit offense that ranks 25th in wRC+ and fourth in strikeout rate at 25.6%.
