Jon Lester (CHC): $6,700 vs. LAA
Lester’s coming off a few rough starts, having allowed 16 earned runs over his last three outings, but he draws a solid matchup against the Angels on this slate. The Angels have been middle-of-the-road against left-handed pitching this season, owning a .719 OPS and 96 wRC+ collectively. Outside of Mike Trout, the Angels’ best hitters are all left-handed, and many of them (Tommy La Stella, Shohei Ohtani, Kole Calhoun) have been significantly worse when facing southpaws. If Lester can navigate around Mike Trout, there isn’t much else to worry about in this lineup. His recent struggles have depressed his price to a point where he is worth the risk on such a small slate.
