Starting Pitcher

Zac Gallen (ARI): $8,000 vs. COL
Colorado’s lineup looks stacked on paper, but a lot of thump is taken out of these bats on the road. Using park-adjusted metrics, the Rockies lag far behind. They have an 84 wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season, which is the fourth-lowest in the majors. Their .675 OPS on the road is the majors’ second-worst ahead of just the Marlins. Gallen has been carving up batters since his promotion earlier this season, posting a 27.4% strikeout rate and 12.6% SwStr rate. The rookie should take advantage of a weak lineup and get plenty of strikeouts.

Kyle Gibson (MIN): $7,400 vs. CWS
Gibson may have a 4.28 ERA, but his 3.88 xFIP and 2.93 K/BB ratio suggest that he has pitched much better. The White Sox have been one of the worst teams against righties this season with an 81 wRC+ and .687 OPS. What really makes this matchup appealing is Chicago’s 26.4% strikeout rate against righties, the second-highest mark in the majors. Gibson is the best pitcher priced in the mid-tier.
