DraftKings DFS NHL Strategy Advice: Tuesday (2/23)

DraftKings DFS NHL Strategy Advice: Tuesday (2/23)

While there are only six games on the slate tonight, there are some interesting storylines to follow. Sidney Crosby is following up his 1,000th game by taking on Alex Ovechkin yet again. The Canadiens are looking to get back in the win column after dropping a pair of games against the Maple Leafs and Senators. Meanwhile, the Canucks and Oilers will continue jockeying for position in the middle of the North division.

Center

Pius Suter (CHI): $4,800 vs. CBJ
The 24-year-old center has recorded 10 points in 19 games. He is riding shotgun in between Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. He logged over 20 minutes of ice time in each of his last two games, making them his two highest markers on the season. He is earning more ice time by proving to be a responsible player in Jeremy Colliton’s lineup. The Blackhawks have surprised many people this season, including myself. Suter is one of the many reasons why.

Wing

Kyle Palmieri (NJD): $5,300 vs. BUF
Kyle Palmieri was one of several Devils that found themselves on the COVID list this season. Palmieri returned to action on February 16, and he is on a four-game point streak since. He has nine points in 12 games this season. Palmieri has recorded between 24 and 30 goals in each of his last five seasons. He is shooting a career-low of 9.1%, which is due for positive regression. He is skating alongside Jack Hughes and Andreas Johnsson, as well as the top power-play unit. Buy low now while you still can.

Nils Hoglander (VAN): $4,000 vs. EDM
Nils Hoglander has been a rare bright spot in the turbulent start to the Canucks season. Hoglander has recorded 9 points in 22 games. He has been rewarded with an uptick in ice time over the last 10 games. More time on ice has resulted in more shots on goal. Hoglander has averaged 3.83 shots per game in his last six contests. He is skating in the top-six alongside Bo Horvat and Tanner Pearson. He is getting second power play time. Tonight the Canucks host an Oilers team that has surrendered 3.10 goals per game.

Defense

Adam Boqvist (CHI): $2,800 vs. CBJ
The Blackhawks sacrificed a lot of their future during their quest for multiple Stanley Cups. Adam Boqvist is one of the few high capital draft picks they still own. Boqvist was selected eight overall in the 2018 draft. The 20-year-old has stepped in nicely this season. He is paired with veteran Calvin De-Haan, and he is running the top power-play unit. Boqvist has missed a lot of time this season on the COVID list. He has contributed with four points in eight games played. This is a bottom-of-the-barrel price for a player running a power-play unit that features Hart candidate Patrick Kane.

Goalie

Mackenzie Blackwood (NJD): $7,800 vs. BUF
Mackenzie Blackwood has been phenomenal this season. He touts a 4-1-1 record with a .938 save percentage and 2.12 goals-against average. Blackwood suffered his first regulation loss of the season last week after surrendering three goals on 29 shots. I expect he will bounce back well tonight against the Sabres. The over/under is set at 5.5, and the Devils are favored to win the game. This is a safe bet in goal.
