2022 IDP Dynasty Rookie Draft Player Notes

Kyle Hamilton – Baltimore Ravens, Pick 14
Kyle Hamilton is the safest player in this draft in my opinion and the Ravens needed some help at the Safety position. Hamilton is a ‘do-it-all’ type of Safety that will come up and make a TFL or stay back in coverage and make a play on the ball. Hamilton can also play CB or LB in certain sets and should be a Day 1 every-down player for a Ravens defense that needs a boost.

Daxton Hill – Cincinnati Bengals, Pick 31
Hill is in Cincinnati to eventually replace Jessie Bates (Bates is playing on the Franchise Tag this season) but even if Bates plays this year Hill can be used as a slot CB or even play outside. Hill is a ‘do-it-all’ type of safety that will but up big tackle numbers and make the occasional play on the ball. Hill should be a very high pick in IDP rookie drafts and will hold value for this season even if he isn’t a starting Saftey because he has great versatility.

Lewis Cine – Minnesota Vikings, Pick 32
Cine is a Saftey that has put up some big tackle numbers at Georgia and I’m excited to see him bring his game to the NFL. Cine will allow Harrison Smith to play Free Saftey and roam for the ball while Cine makes tackles by playing more in the box. There is no one currently on the roster that should challenge Cine for the starting gig so he should be able to start racking up tackles from Week 1.

Jalen Pitre – Houston Texans, Pick 37
The Texans continue to add to the secondary by taking Pitre who will play immediately for them in multiple roles. Pitre has experience lining up all over the field and should continue that with Houston. Pitre can come up and make a play in the run game (36 tackles for loss in his Collegiate Career), chase down the QB (8 sacks), or make a play on the ball (4 INTs, 10 PDs) and the Texans have needs help at all 3 levels. This landing spot is outstanding and we should see a lot of early production from Pitre.

Jaquan Brisker – Chicago Bears, Pick 48
The Bears taking Brisker is very good for his landing spot but it also frees up Eddie Jackson to play Free Saftey and go after the ball. Brisker will be the primary Box Saftey and will eat up any tackle that Roquan Smith doesn’t get. Eddie Jackson is signed through 2025 so the Bears probably envision him and Brisker as the starting safety tandem moving forward.
