Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Gabriel Davis (ankle) questionable for Monday night

Fantasy Impact: Davis had an excellent Week 1 and should be a solid fantasy producer this season. Since the injury was just added to the report Saturday, the injury is likely new which definitely puts Davis’ Week 2 status in doubt. With the Bills playing on Monday, fantasy managers will want to weigh the options on their bench before Sunday kickoff and determine if it is safer to bench Davis for Week 2. If Davis is unable to suit up Monday, Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder will likely see an increase in targets.

D’Andre Swift expected to play Week 2 but could be on snap count

D’Andre Swift is expected to play in Week 2 against the Commanders, but the team “may have to be selective about his usage,” according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Swift downplayed the ankle injury this week, but this report throws some cold water on his status for Week 2. If you drafted Swift with a first- or second-round pick this season, you probably have to start him and hope for the best. But if you are deep at running back and have some other options, it might be safer to lean on the rest of your roster this week. Monitor his status throughout the morning for updates.

Tee Higgins clears concussion protocol, will play Week 2

Tee Higgins (concussion) has progressed through the protocol, and barring a setback, he’s expected to play today against the Cowboys, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Bengals are playing a late game against the Cowboys this week, so this is a great early report for fantasy managers. Higgins is good to go and should be in all fantasy lineups.

J.K. Dobbins not a lock to play Week 2

J.K. Dobbins practiced fully all week and is pushing to play in Week 2 against the Jets, but it appears unlikely he makes his season debut today, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Dobbins was pushing to play in Week 1, as well, but the team ultimately decided to hold him back. It seems as if we are looking at a similar situation in Week 2, though Dobbins was able to log full practices throughout the week. We may not have official word on this one until inactives come out, but Dobbins is a risky start for fantasy managers, given this report. Kenyan Drake and Mike Davis would likely once again see the bulk of the work in the Baltimore backfield if Dobbins is inactive.
