Josh Jacobs: Dolphins inquired about RB

The Miami Dolphins inquired about the availability of running back Josh Jacobs but were told by the Las Vegas Raiders that he is not available.

Fantasy Impact

The 25-year-old led the league in rushing with 1,653 yards last season, but he and the Raiders are not close to agreeing to a long-term deal. This has caused Jacobs to miss training camp as he has refused to sign his $10.1 million franchise tag, but the team expects him to report before the season opener and has no plans to rescind the tag.

Jonathan Taylor: Dolphins actively pursuing trade discussions

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have actively pursued trade discussions with the Indianapolis Colts for disgruntled star RB Jonathan Taylor. They have delivered at least one offer which was not accepted and continue negotiations.

Fantasy Impact

The Dolphins seemed to have weathered the storm of potential veteran RB additions, but with a star like Taylor available, it’s hard to not imagine the offensive potential. Jackson also explicitly mentioned that the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos expressed interest as well, though no team has met the Colts’ request for a first-round pick. Taylor was given a deadline of Tuesday, August 29 to find a trade, and according to Jackson, Miami is among several locations with which Taylor would be content.
