Tuesday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Scottie Barnes, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey (11/21)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/21)

Scottie Barnes (G/F – TOR): 17.5 points

Scottie Barnes has been terrific this season for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 20.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. The fact that he is still averaging 20 points per game despite hitting 20 or more just once in his last six games is an indication of how strong his play was to start the season. He’s already had a stretch with 20 or more points in six straight games, showing the type of consistency that can allow him to take the next step on the offensive end. Tonight, Scottie faces off against an Orlando Magic team that has been stingy to the small forward position, allowing just 18.82 points per game. The matchup is not great, but Scottie has eclipsed 17.5 points in eight of his last 12 games. Slap the More on Scottie for Tuesday night.

Pick: More

Joel Embiid (C – PHI): 4.5 assists

Despite falling behind Luka Doncic for third in the MVP race, Embiid is having another stellar season. The Cameroonian big man is averaging 31.9 points, 11.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. The assists are a new career and are something the line makers have been slow to adjust to. I understand why this number was not set at 5.5, but there is screaming value on the over at 4.5. Embiid is averaging 6.2 assists in the season and has failed to record five or more assists just three times in 13 games. He has recorded six or more in five straight. Cleveland allows 4.33 assists per game to the Center position. Jab the More on Joel for tonight’s game against the Cavaliers.

Pick: More

Tyrese Maxey (G – PHI): 24.5 points

Maxey over on points is always a line that beckons, but with the Cleveland Cavaliers on tap it becomes too value-laden to ignore. Maxey has been sensational this season, averaging 26.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. He has made the most of the departure of James Harden, highlighting why GM Daryl Morey pulled the rug out from under Harden and declined to offer him a lucrative extension despite the promise the prior offseason. Maxey has hit 25 or more points in five of his last seven games and is facing a Cleveland Cavaliers team that gifts the most points per game to the point guard position at 27.4 per contest. Mash the More on Maxey for Tuesday night.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper, so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
