Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (2/2)
Paolo Banchero (F – ORL): 4.5 assists
Fresh off being named to his first All-Star team, Banchero should have another strong night for the Orlando Magic. He has stepped up his play recently, and while his efficiency is still not what one wants from a big, he has been excellent nonetheless. Banchero points and assists both have some appeal today, but with Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony-Towns on the other side, he may not be as efficient as he has been in his recent four game stretch. Banchero has dished out six or more assists in five straight games and looks set to make it six in a row tonight against the Timberwolves. Based on his recent play, I expected this number to be 5.5, but the Timberwolves allowing the least assists per game to the power forward position kept it at value-laden 4.5. Bump the More on Banchero for Friday night’s action.
Pick: More
Alperen Sengun (C – HOU): 22.5 points
Sengun is dealing with an illness, but looks like an excellent play tonight if he does suit up. The More on Jalen Green is the play if Sengun sits. Sengun has had a couple of rough nights from the field in his recent games but is primed for a bounce back performance against a Toronto Raptors team that lacks quality bigs and may be without Jakob Poeltl for another night. Regardless of whether Poeltl plays, Sengun deserves a long look against a Toronto Raptors team surrendering 22.88 points per game to the center position. Slap the More on Sengun for Friday night.
Pick: More
Malcolm Brogdon (G – POR): 15.5 points
Brogdon continues to start over Scoot Henderson for whatever reason, and as long as he is, he is worth a look when he is hot. Brogdon has scored 16 or more points in six of his last seven games, scoring 18 or more five times. Usually efficient from the field, only an off night should prevent Brogdon from hitting 16 points against a Denver Nuggets team relinquishing 23.88 points per game to the point guard position. Mash the More on Brogdon for Friday night basketball.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
