Fantasy Baseball Draft Values: Royce Lewis, Cole Ragans, CJ Abrams, Michael King

Fantasy Baseball Draft Values: Royce Lewis, Cole Ragans, CJ Abrams, Michael King

We’re less than one week away from the Dodgers and Padres opening the MLB season in South Korea and two weeks away from Opening Day for every other team.

I previously talked about five overvalued players based on average draft position (ADP) on CBS. Let’s now focus on five undervalued players on CBS.

It is important to remember that ADP and where players are valued/ranked are different on every platform, so you can find different values and players to avoid on each platform. Here is a look at a handful of players who could be undervalued on CBS.

Undervalued Players in CBS Fantasy Baseball Drafts

Royce Lewis (3B – MIN) — 57 ADP on CBS

This is an example of a player valued drastically different across fantasy platforms. Royce Lewis is trending up 16 spots on CBS to an ADP of 57. However, he is still falling close to the double-digit rounds on ESPN. He could be a value here on CBS, making him an even bigger potential value on ESPN.

The one thing holding Lewis back is injuries. He slashed .309/.372/.548 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs across 58 games last season while also displaying his power in the playoffs. He holds legitimate first-round upside if he can stay healthy for a full season, so being able to draft Lewis anywhere in this range is well worth the risk for his upside.

Cole Ragans (SP – KC) — 65 ADP on CBS

Cole Ragans is another example of a player going earlier in drafts on CBS compared to ESPN (where he is being drafted closer to the double-digit rounds). Either way, he possesses the upside to outproduce his ADP on CBS.

Ragans exploded onto the scene last year with the Royals, posting a 2.64 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with an 89/27 K/BB ratio across 71 2/3 innings as a starter. He will look to pick up where he left off last season and remains an upside selection in this range of fantasy drafts.

CJ Abrams (SS – WAS) — 100 ADP on CBS

CJ Abrams exploded onto the scene last year, hitting .245 with 18 home runs and 64 RBIs over 563 at-bats. He is best known for his speed, stealing 47 bases, the third-most in the National League.

Abrams will remain an upside selection this year and a value anywhere near the double-digit rounds of fantasy drafts, especially in leagues where stolen bases are more valuable. He holds 50-60+ stolen base upside, continues to improve as a hitter and should get on base more. He still has room to grow as an overall hitter to improve his batting average and power.

Michael King (SP – SD) — 122 ADP on CBS

Michael King emerged on the scene late last year, posting a 1.88 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 49 strikeouts across 38 1/3 innings (eight starts) after he was moved into the Yankees’ starting rotation late last season. He was a key part of the trade package that sent Juan Soto to New York and will now look to carry his momentum from last year into this season with the Padres.

He has gotten off to an impressive start in spring training. King holds the upside to be an easy top-100 overall player and provides little risk with a huge upside if he continues to fall anywhere in this range of drafts.
