Friday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Michael Porter Jr., Cade Cunningham, Kelly Olynyk (3/15)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/15)

Michael Porter Jr. (F – DEN): 4.5 1st quarter points

MPJ continues to start hot for the Denver Nuggets, recording six first quarter points per game over his last five, hitting at least five points in each. He has scored at least five first quarter points in each of his last seven games and in 11 of his last 12. MPJ has averaged 6.0 first quarter points per game over both his last five and 10 games. Tonight, he gets a soft San Antonio team counting the days until the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery. Mash the More on MPJ for Friday night.

Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 5.5 1st quarter points

Cunningham has been explosive to start games for the Detroit Pistons lately, averaging 8.8 points per first quarter over his last five games, scoring at least six in each. Cade has put up six or more first quarter points in each of his last six games and in eight of his last 10. He averaged 7.3 first quarter points per game over that 10 game stretch. Cade recorded nine first quarter points against the Miami Heat earlier this month and, based on form and head-to-head data, is in an excellent position to do so again tonight. Clap the More on Cade for Friday night basketball.

Pick: More

Kelly Olynyk (C – TOR): 3.5 1st quarter points

A 3.5 total on a player averaging just 9.0 points per game on the season seems counterintuitive on the surface, but recent form actually suggests that this is a value. Olynyk is averaging 14.4 points in the month of March and has recorded at least four first quarter points in each of his last five games. He averaged 6.2 first quarter points per game over those five contests. Olynyk has been solid for the Raptors as a starter in place of the injured Jakob Poeltl and is in an excellent position for another strong start tonight for a depleted Raptors team starting zero players from their opening night lineup. Opt for the More on Olynyk for Friday night’s action.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
