Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/13)
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 5.5 1st quarter points
Averaging just five first quarter points per game on the season, Cunningham has been starting hot lately, scoring 8.8 first quarter points per game in his last five contests and 7.1 over his last 10. He should have another hot start against a depleted Toronto Raptors team trying their hardest to depth and injury tank in order to keep the rights to their first round pick this year (they only keep if it’s top-six). Clap the More on Cade for Wednesday night.
Pick: More
Nikola Jokic (C – DEN): 3.5 1st quarter rebounds
Jokic has gone cold in the first quarter rebounding department lately, averaging just 3.4 over his past five games and exceeding three rebounds just once. However, Jokic has averaged 4.7 rebounds per 1st quarter in his last 10 games and 4.0 over his last 15 games. He had just 11 rebounds against Miami the last time they squared off but managed four of those in the first quarter. Jab the More on Jokic for Wednesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Michael Porter Jr. (F – DEN): 4.5 1st quarter points
MPJ has been locked in to start games for the Nuggets, averaging 6.2 first quarter points per game over his last five contests. He has averaged 7.3 over his last 10 and 7.0 over his last 15 overall. He has recorded five or more 1st q points in nine of his last 10 games and 12 of his last 14. MPJ put up nine first quarter points against Miami in their only other meeting this season (2/29/24). Mash the More on MPJ for Wednesday night’s action.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
