The feeling that last week was going to be very tough for DFS was palpable. I played the Zurich Classic slate very conservatively and that alone saved me from sinking too much payroll in the crapshoot. With that Mickey Mouse rubbish in the rearview, we can finally resume our regularly scheduled championship golf.
The CJ Cup Byron Nelson isn’t necessarily a crown jewel on the PGA Tour, but it looks supremely attractive juxtaposed with its predecessor on the calendar. The field is a bit lackluster, but there will certainly be more skill involved in building winning DFS lineups for a change.
PGA DFS Advice & Picks: CJ Cup Byron Nelson (2024)
(Salary Prices Courtesy of DraftKings)
TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas is hosting the Byron Nelson for the fourth time in 2024. The 7,414 yards over a par-72 is among the easiest relative to par on Tour and favors the guys who can rip the ball off the tee to set up shorter approach distances. Regardless of play style, however, cashing in on the myriad birdie opportunities is paramount. This is the quintessential bomb-and-gouge putting contest. Although it is well-documented that I love carnage, it should also be noted I don’t hate good scoring. Most of my player pool is sporting low rostership, so leverage should come naturally. Even though none of my exes live in Texas, let’s dig in.
